BAM

. . . and then it hits you! New York Green Roofs collaborated with landscape architecture firm Starr Whitehouse on the design of an exciting roof top venue for the beloved Brooklyn Academy of Music, which recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. The custom designed landscape, also installed and maintained by New York Green Roofs, offers an amenity space for community gathering, special events, and educational endeavors. The semi-intensive vegetated areas feature sedums, grasses, woodland shrubs, and perennial and vine plantings. Opaque glass paver lights create an intimate atmosphere at night and illuminate the gardens in a gentle glow for after hours activities. The performance based green roof system and pre-cast concrete pavers contributed to a LEED Silver rating for the building.
